Muscle Beach is actually a "recreational area". Adjacent to the workout pit, there is a stage where the bodybuilding competitions happen.

And adjacent to that is a FREE gymnastics area with rings, parallel bars, punching bags and chin up bars. I'm not sure how permanent the heavy punching bag is. I've seen people bring their own speed bags.
